As I understand it from the latest work available on the Internet, there is still (April 29) insufficient understanding of the role of statins and ACE2 inhibitors in the development of ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome) and the "cytokine storm" that devastate some patients suffering from Covid-19.

What I found interesting was that ACE2 receptors have recently been found in the nasal cavity, and this has helped explain how Covid-19 can find its way from there deep into the lungs to allow it to wreak the havoc it does in certain patients.
