I would think so. Just because you do not have a giant zip up the front doesn't mean that your heart hasn't had a good bashing. It is very early days and you should be taking it very easy for a couple of weeks. It will take up to three months for things to settle down fully and you may/will get some odd rhythms during that time so don't worry.

Hi jeelly40

You will experience all kinds of things, especially in the first few weeks, this is normal and might be something you have never felt before Just make sure you take things easy to let your heart settle and recover.

Take care

I've had two ablations and we are all different in how our bodies respond to them. I felt totally drained for about a week after each one, but needed two weeks to get back to a feeling of normality. About 5 days after my last ablation in June of this year I had pains in my chest after taking the electric blanket off my bed. I thought 'Oh no, am I having a heart attack', but after about 5 very long minutes it went. When I asked my doctor about it next day he said 'Just put it down to an experience' and he was right because it never happened again. You know your body better than we do and exactly how you are feeling so there is no harm in getting any worries you have checked out with your GP. I rang my doc so many times with queries that I was apologizing to him, but he reassured me that doing so was fine with him. We are talking about your HEART, not your big toe, so never feel embarrassed about seeking advice. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Was breathless too after each ablation.

Hi Jeelly40 I had mine nearly 4 months ago you,ll find its the anesthetic the first week or so until it,s out of your system even though it,s only a small amount it takes time.I took it easy for 6 weeks and then started walking for a mile every day,I,m now up to 2 miles and feeling brill touch wood.Be possitive give it time and you,ll be fine.Good luck argzxoni61
