hi all. im getting weird ectopics at the min. .it feels like my heart is slowing to a stop. and its like someones got me by the throat ???

Hi moggdog,
I'm having ectopics most of the day. Just been put on Flecaindine to control it but not working much yet, maybe a bit. But I'm only on low dose to start with, and even then only started 2 days ago.
I've never had the throat feeling, although my heart has slowed right down sometimes, oddly enough when I'm walking so need a faster beat. But looking back at that episode,I think I may have had a virus which caused the slowing down bit. I have a fast heart, it doesn't do slow normally.

PS. If I felt as though my ticker was slowing down a lot, and had the throat feeling you describe, I'd be straight off to A&E or the doc no messing.
I've had the feeling in my throat, it's odd to say the least but if it's any help it didn't amount to anything worse than an uncomfortable sensation. It may be that you're just not feeling the lighter beats, I had that the first time I had AF, I thought my heart had slowed to around 20bpm at one point, which I don't think was the case... But if you're ever at all worried then go to your GP or A&E...
