Received my first PSA after RP today. Pre PSA was 7.1 but after my surgery my PSA 23. Has anyone had any experience with this. This is really confusing to me.

Why would you test PSA immediately after surgery? You have to wait 3 months for your serum PSA to clear out.

Tall_Allen I’m sorry I didn’t mention it was 6 week after surgery.

Thanks. What was your post-prostatectomy pathology report - positive margins, stage, and Gleason score? You should get a PSMA PET/CT to check for distant metastases. If no distant metastases or if only in pelvic lymph nodes, this clinical trial might be ideal:

Yes positive margins, stage 4 with GL 9.

Stage T4 - it grew into surrounding organs? Why did you not have adjuvant radiation? Please get the PSMA PET ASAP and enroll in that clinical trial if no distant metastases.

Prior to surgery I was told that it was contain to the prostate but after my surgery it was found in the near by LN. I had a F18 PET prior to surgery that showed no metastases.

You seem like a perfect candidate for that clinical trial, then.

Isn't the std. treatment abiraterone. I guess they are substituting apalutamide for the abiraterone?

The standard treatment is just ADT.

Re test using another lab. You will not be the first one here getting an erroneous report.
