I am hoping to find a psychiatrist to help my 19 year old daughter with Inattentive ADHD. Vyvanse seemed to be working (and still is) but am wondering if it's increasing her anxiety. It's complicated and I have decided that maybe a psychiatrist can help. She was evaluated by a phychologist and learning specialist, and her pediatrician has prescribed her meds. She recently started taking guanfacine at night to help regulate her moods- I would like a specialist who has expertise in ADHD AND the meds so that we can get her on the right track. Idk if Vyvanse is causing her to have more anxiety or not- Maybe she needs a new medication. I just don't know where to get the right help for her. Our pediatrician is great, but I would like more expertise. Any suggestions?

psychiatrist dealing with ADHD
Willandgrace- our life has changed since seeing a child psychiatric. Their special area is dealing with and treating children with medication. Ours interviews our son and considered his outgoing, creative personality and knew what direction to go in. She also knew when were were struggling in school how to help us. She wrote a note about him snacking during the day at school.
I really suggest seeing a psychiatrist I know you will get good advice.
Best of luck.
I would definitely recommend a psychiatrist and considering your daughter’s age it will be good for her to start getting specialists that she will keep for years to come.
Definitely seek a psychiatrist who specializes in treating ADHD.
First of all, I would guess that your daughter has just about "aged out" of her pediatrician! So she's going to need another physician very soon anyway. I would ask the pediatrician for recommendations and also be sure and check on your insurance website for specialists in this area.
You are wise to search for a good psychiatrist 😊
