ADHD Executive Function coach or tutor

I'm so frustrated! I have an 11th grader with ADHD. He desperately needs a specialized tutor or executive function coach trained to deal with ADHD, so that I can move him towards more independence with studying.......he needs time management, organization, and study skills/note-taking help.

I cannot seem to find anyone who specializes in this locally---need someone in person-- South Charlotte, NC or surrounding area.

Puccini-

You did not say how he is going with grades or socially. Is he in 6th or 7th? Do you know if they have the CARE program anywhere in your schools? It is really making a difference for us. It's a little like Elementary with middle. The big thing is teaching them to be great students. They also give up their elective period for curriculum support which is an entire class period of exactly what you are looking for (time management, organization, and study skills/note-taking help). They also work on self-confidence, team building. While working at grade level.

They stay with 1 teacher for English snd Math+ curriculum support. Then he goes out for history, s.science, p.e. snd lunch.

It so wonderful! I also don't have as many teachers to deal with.

I wish every student had this opportunity.

Best of luck.

I love to know more about this CARE program. Is there a site with info? Every school should offer this.

My son is 11 and in 6th grade and he is doing ok but struggles with Matt and Science and spends hours upon hours on homework to barely maintain a D & C in those classes. He does well with everything else for now.

Here is their link, but I don't like how they talk about drop out rates and delinquents.

I wish every district had this program.

11th grade would be high school. It's really hard at that age because they don't want to be different
