How well do you feel your child's ADHD has been managed over the last year? Share your experiences in the comments.

Been on many different meds and can't seem to get it right. Get phonecalls from school daily, in the recovery room then just fall to sleep. Don't know what to do

Sometimes it seems like we are starting to manage it better, aaand then I wake up.

Son currently taking Ritalin every 4 hours 2-3 times per day. In the last several weeks we have started getting calls from the school and emails from his teacher that behaviors are changing. We have started therapy and only been to one session so far.

My son is not on medication (yet) and is struggling. He also has anxiety and has become very self-conscious of being different, what others (teachers, staff, and kids) think of him, and his self-esteem has plummeted. It is stressful and heartbreaking to see him struggling so much. I am unhappy with his current Psychologist and am currently looking for someone new. In the meantime, I am getting constant calls and emails from school about behavior issues, that I can clearly see are ADHD related, but the school is treating as regular 'ole behavioral issues. The principal said to me last week "gosh, you would think that in second grade this wouldn't be an issue!" referring to my son's impulsiveness and struggle with transitioning from recess back to class. I responded by explaining to her that my son is not neurotypical, and trouble transitioning is a direct result of his ADHD. He can't be compared to other neurotypical second graders! This week she said in an email that "he is still having trouble with recess transitions. The four days of spending recess in the office didn't have an impact!" I sent a professionally worded email back reminding her that of course, my son is still having trouble transitioning! His ADHD makes transitions hard, it makes him impulsive, and 10 or 20 days in the office would not have an impact because he is not behaving this way on purpose! I have a meeting with my son's school "team" on Monday, and am ready to really advocate. When my son was first diagnosed, the School Psychologist said my son was a textbook case of ADHD, and they knew exactly how to help him. It seems that she is wrong. :-(
