Does anyone deal with the side effect of not being hungry through the day but around bed time your appetite blows up and end up over eating and eating garbage food?

Sometimes during the day at work I'm too anxious to eat and after work, when I'm more relaxed, my appetite comes back. Could you have something similar going on?

This used to happen to me all the time! I haven’t had this in a little while, but when it did happen it was when I was feeling overly, overly anxious (like going through a break up), and I just simply could not eat but right when it was time for bed, my appetite would be so strong that I’d almost forgot how not hungry I was during the day. I’m sorry I don’t have much advice other than I know that this is a pretty common symptom of severe anxiety, and in that way it’s pretty normal, but obviously needs treatment. Doing something during the day that can kind of re-set your frame of mind, almost making you forget that your appetite isn’t strong (heavy exercise/ socializing/ something to release adrenaline).

I eat normally during the day - breakfast, lunch and dinner! I can't say I have no appetite during the day and though I like eating, I don't really feel the temptation to overeat.

I normally eat dinner 5.30 - 6.30 - and this is all well and good!

But a couple of hours later I have the urge to eat cookies, cake, crisps etc! It can be quite overwhelming - I resist as much as I can but it takes a lot of will power. Mostly I manage to resist, but with a great deal of difficulty. Occasionally - too often - I give in.

This has really only become a problem recently. I don't think it's a side effect of medication - at least not in my case. But any thoughts or experiences from other people would be welcome.

It's often depending on the time of year or my job, when it's hot I snack more but in the cold months I like to have bigger meals.

I'm not into breakfast either, if I have to get up early, I like getting two donuts but no big meals.
