I’m having a difficult time accepting my OCD diagnosis. I struggle with checking things often for safety and I am still learning to recognize obsessive thoughts and ruminating loops. The reason I am having a difficult time accepting my OCD diagnosis is because I have lived like this for so long that it feels like it’s a normal comfort practice to go on my checking rituals And it isn’t harming anyone. Did anyone else have a difficult time accepting that they have OCD? The more that I research it, the more a-ha moments I have an realizations that I haven’t been living a normal life. Does anyone else engage in checking rituals? Do they interfere with your life or are they manageable?
