A day with OCD

What does a day with OCD look like ?

It is filled with doubts and anxiety.

OCD will latch onto different topics.

When I get a doubt, I resist doing the compulsion.

I relabel the thought as an OCD doubt.

The anxiety is high in the beginning, but it will get lower.

The thoughts will soon fade away.

Usually, OCD will sometimes drag the thought for few days, or it will switch to another topic.

When I give into OCD doubts and do the compulsions, my OCD gets worst.

There is a cycle of doubts which start happening one after another.

Thus, when I resist OCD, I am the winner.

By being a winner, I gain victory over OCD.

I hope we as sufferers have the courage and strength to resist OCD.

Thank you for your explanation! I told my son about your “relabeling” your thoughts to “that’s just an OCD thought.” He tried that yesterday will continue. It’s a powerful statement because you’re not giving credibility to the unwanted thoughts.
