Help with my test results please

Hi All

I would like help with my latest blood tests results PLEASE and guidance of what to do next ???

I have Autoimmune Hashimotos 27 years !

So to keep this short I’ve recently ( past 3 months ) changed from Armour Thyroid ( took for 5 years ) to Tirosint ( I’m lactose intolerant ) previous to that I was on T4 only for 22 years ! Although Armour was great for my T3 , I had symptoms ( chest pain & anxiety and running out feeling as I took it twice a day ) my T4 was always very low so I really struggled in the mornings to get going and had headaches in the night.

Anyway my reason for my query is since adding HRT to my regime my thyroid levels T3 have become compromised but no one seems to understand this ? Although it quite clearly shows in my blood test results . Frustrating !

Symptoms … Fatigue especially first thing in the morning & evening ,Vertigo ,cold feet , Brain fog and Headaches that wake me in the night & general grogginess.

As I have Osteoporosis I have been advised this is necessary for me to take Oestrogen and I have other issues when I try to lower the dose.

I suppose Im trying to hit my sweet spot with getting my thyroid optimal and menopause symptoms under control !

I’m hoping adding a little T3 to my 125mg tirosint will do the trick ?

Any help and advise very much appreciated.

I’ve got a prescription finally for Thybon Henning and advised to start on 2.5 mg daily

Is this the correct dose ?

I also have had low iron and ferritin which I’ve had for years but told not to worry about ? no one ever seems to think this is an issue ?

I’ve started to supplement myself with iron and it’s got my levels up a bit ( been taking Thorne Bic for 6 months ) but as you can see from my results it’s still low ?

Attached are my recent test results

All done at 8am before any medication.

Im dairy free and mostly gluten free

Many thanks for listening

And thank you all for this wonderful forum of knowledge.

Thank you

Joskie

Could you upload each image as a separate reply to this post? You may need to write one or two words to make it upload. Currently the images are barely legible.

Your FT4 is 85% through range. You may or may not need to drop a very small amount of Levo to add T3. Adding T3 will drop FT4 slightly anyway.

Low iron/ferritin really is an issue that doctors don;t appreciate. It will really be affecting you overall.

Try eating chicken liver pate a few times a week, drink orange juice or take a vit C supplement at the same time to help it absorb.

Your TIBC result is on the low side so that indicates no room for suppementing iron. Try and do what you can diet wise. Link with ideas for dietary iron:

Vit D is good. You don;t want it any higher than that, in fact could drop a small amount to around 100.

Both B12 & folate could be higher, not yet optimal. Suggest trying a good methyl/active B complex.

B complex suggestions: Slightly cheaper options with inactive B6:

Contains B6 as P5P an active form:

Thank you Jaydee for the information

So am I correct in thinking adding in 2.5mg of T3 is a good idea ?

Confused about iron supplement

Are you suggesting I don’t take it ?

Will look into food supplementation to increase it too

Many thanks

Yes, 2.5mcg T3 to start with , then if in a few weeks everything seems OK then add a second 2.5mcgs later in the day, for a total of 5mcgs a day. Retest in 6-8 weeks.

Iron is a complicated subject and its possible to have too much which can cause problems. As your TIBC is low, this indicates that you don't have capacity for an iron supplement as such and it would be preferable to focus on dietary iron. Think chicken liver a few times a week, increase red meat.
