Armour switch to Thyroid-S

Hello. I’ve just received Thyroid- S and am asking how best to make the switch from Armour? I currently take 2 grains, 2 x 60mg per day of Armour.

I’ve been on Armour for over 10 years and do well on it but the cost is making me look at other options. I have Hashimoto’s and it’s taken me a long time to feel reasonably well so I am anxious that I do this the best way possible. Of course, I realise that it may take my body a while to adjust. Thank you.

I don't know why you have put asterisks into the names. It just makes it difficult to read (if you are not fully aware what is meant) and impossible ever to search for.

It is sources which offer these products without prescription we cannot post. Or advertising. Not ordinary, everyday mentions of their names.

Thank you, edited now. I didn’t think I was permitted to type the full name.

Hello Butterfly -

If you are talking about switching from Armour to Thyroid S they both declare the same content namely :-

each grain contains trace elements of T1. T2 and calcitonin + a measure of T3 at 9 mcg + a measure of T4 at 38 mcg.

Thyroid S is said to contain the most fillers -

with Canadian Efra said to contain the least fillers and with a slightly different content with T3 at 8mcg + T4 at 35 mcg per 1 grain/tablet.

I always switched brands, and now batches, some weeks before finishing the old one and by substituting small amounts each day and gradually building up to the full dose. I take 3.25 grains a day, so I begin with 3 grains of the usual one and 0.25 of the new one. I do that for four days, then 2.75 of the old and 0.5 of the new for say one week, and continue like that until I'm taking the full dose of the new one. That way, if I have any reaction to the new one, or it just doesn't suit me, I know with enough time to do something about it. I originally took Armour, then ERFA, now Thyroid-S and I found them all as good as each other. In between I tried Nature-throid and Thiroyd but didn't get on with either of them. Good luck!
