ok so it may be time to accept the fact that it may not be just my thyroid causing my issues.?so I’ve read quite a lot about her and think as I didn’t have a good run with levothyroxine I don’t think combining hrt tables as well is the way to go so after reading lots I’m thinking get with a progesterone tablet rather than a patch. Has anyone had any experience of these please?

I’m on the progesterone tablets and they’re great. If you take them before bed, they help you sleep. I think progesterone is a really underrated hormone!
How much levothyroxine are you taking
How long on this dose
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
You also need to retest vitamin levels

Regarding HRT, it may be useful to have a look at Dr Louise Newson’s free Balance App, as I find it really useful for comparing HRT medications & having up to date research articles. There is also an ability to post questions.
I'm post menopausal and I used to be on a combined oestrogen and progesterone patch. Now I'm on an oestrogen only patch and a pill of micronised progesterone (Utrogestan) which I take before bed, as Smartypants1 said - it really helps with sleep. I found it difficult to work out what symptoms are due to menopause and which are due to Hashimoto's as there is quite an overlap. I think if you take oral art you might have to increase your levothyroxine slightly. I was already on hrt when I started levothyroxine. It's taken me a long time to get everything sorted out, in the end I found I wasn't converting well from T4 to T3 so I now take Armour NDT instead of levothyroxine and my energy levels are much better though not fantastic. it might be worth keeping a journal of your symptoms while you are changing things because it's very easy to forget I find. Also all the optimal vitamins etc make a big difference.
There's lots of info on Dr Louise Newson's balance menopause website and app. It's best to take body identical HRT and it's best to take transdermal oestrogen (gel or patches). Good luck if you try the micronised progesterone pill (Utrogestan), I've found it helps massively and I don't think it has negatively affected my thyroid.
