Just checking if you are leaving 24 hours between your last dose of Levo and the blood test?

What time of day was this last test?

How are you feeling?

To give a full picture we need to see TSH, FT4 & FT3. The NHS often dont test FT3 or FT4 even. Thousands of members of this group buy private tests to see the results they need to get well.

See link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost.thyroiduk.org/testing/priva...

There is also a new company offering walk in (includes free blood draw) & mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...

Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays.

What supplements are you taking?

Hey there again :

Well as suggested last time we do need a full thyroid blood test in order to better help you understand what's going on and what you can do to improve your health and well being.

The minimum readings we need are a TSH, Free T3 and Free T4 drawn from the same blood -

and since inflammation, antibodies and ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D readings can impact on T4 Levothyroxine converting well into T3 the active hormone that runs all your bodily functions.

it makes sense to get a full thyroid bundle of tests - its 10/11 blood tests and at least then we have a sound base of the relevant results and readings and to talk your through your next best steps to better health.

All these results tell us is that since you had a reduction in T4 medication from 100 to 75 mcg a day your TSH has now risen to over 2 - which is too high - for someone already taking thyroid hormone replacement -

your T4 has moved a ' bit ' as one would expect - though still over range - I hope a further reduction hasn't been suggested as you are already under medicated on 75 mcg and it looks as though you are not converting well the T4 into T3 -

but without a reading of T3 and T4 from the same blood draw - everything is a guess:

Are these results to be discussed with you - or are you considered ' good to go ' ?

Ok then - good idea -

make an early as possible morning appointment for the blood draw on a Monday or a Tuesday so your blods are processed within the working week - and just post the results and ranges on here in a new question - with a brief recap of health issue.

Fast overnight - just take in water - and do not take your daily T4 until after the blood has been drawn -

Stop any supplements around a week before the blood test so we measure what your body is holding rather than that recently ingested -

Think that's all - I now just run a yearly full thyroid blood panel to include the vitamins and minerals as I self medicate and my treat to myself is having a nurse home visit to draw my blood -

I think between them Blue Horizon and Medichecks cover the country with this extra add on service - details on Thyroid UK website where there is a full page of all the Private blood tests companies. thyroiduk.org
