Hi, does anyone take Lansoprazole for acid reflux and finds that it cause joint pain?

It is really helping keep my reflux at bay but I am in so much pain in my back and hips. I already have a bad back but it’s worse than ever and I can’t walk far. Any suggestions what I could do.

Has anyone tried the IQoro device from Sweden?

Many thanks 😊

Essential to retest vitamin levels regularly on any PPI

Exactly what vitamin supplements are you taking

Have you got recent thyroid and vitamin tests

If not suggest you retest

Are you still on strictly gluten free diet

Have you tried dairy free diet

Have you seen endocrinologist yet to get T3 prescribed

Thank you for your response.

I have a hiatus hernia so have been advised to take PPI’s.

I told my GP my T3 was low and my T4 was high a year ago, they don’t want to know as my TSH is in range. I do not have the funds to see an endocrinologist privately as it would be costly. My GP will not refer me to see one.

I have some insurance with Benneden which is covering me to see a cardiologist. My GP sent me for a heart scan and a monitor. It took 3 months to get the results. I have dizziness every day a tendency to have high blood pressures especially when I go to the doctors. My heart scan was normal but I have a slightly irregular heart beat and ectopic and fast heart beat. They are trying to put me on beta blockers but I am refusing and saying it is side effects of thyroxine.

I am having a 24 hour blood pressure cuff and a monitor on for a week with the private cardiologist next week. He did mention that I might need to lower my T4 and take T3 but I have to wait for the results to decide what to do. I am so fed up with it all as everything takes so long to sort out. In the meantime I am suffering.

I take vitamin C, probiotics and omega 3 oil. I did take B Complex and vitamin D in the past but wasn’t sure if they made my rapid heart beat worse. I am unable to take magnesium because it upsets my tummy.

I am gluten free and have cut down on dairy.

Suggest you retest thyroid and vitamins

Test early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Remember to stop vitamin B complex 3-5 days before test. Instead take a separate folate supplement

List of thyroid specialists and endocrinologists who will prescribe T3

Some are NHS and private

Initial consultation privately to get T3 prescribed then transfer to NHS going forward

private cardiologist next week. He did mention that I might need to lower my T4 and take T3 but I have to wait for the results to decide what to do

Assuming that’s the case get cardiologist to write to GP recommending this. You will probably still need go private initially as there’s so few NHS endocrinologist who are thyroid specialists. No point getting referral to local endocrinologist, vast majority are diabetic specialists and useless for thyroid
