I had PMR and was totally let down by doctors at surgery, I managed to wean slowly off steroids myself, after 2 years and I’ve been medication free for 8 months!!!
However, I wanted to have inflammatory markers checked, had discomfort in shoulder my markers were the best they’ve ever been! Happy days.
There was a but…..concerned about thyroid, many blood tests later, fast forward a year and started on thyroxine, unfortunately I had reaction after 5 days on lowest dose, horrendous palpitations and fast heart rate, told to stop immediately and now waiting for another blood test!!
How long is thyroxine in system does anyone know I had 25mcg for 5 days? surgery are not being helpful at all, just saying I need to wait a while!!!!!!
Sorry for long post needed to get it off my chest! X

"Levothyroxine will stay in your system for around 4 to 6 weeks. It takes longer for people with hypothyroidism to eliminate levothyroxine (closer to 6 weeks) than those with normal thyroid function."
I have had hypothyroidism for about 25yrs & have never had any issues. However having been diagnosed with GCA & PMR last June & feeling totally rubbish, I recently joined a Facebook Thyroid group. One thing I have learnt is that different brands of Levothyroxine can affect some people. The brand Teva is one that always appears to crop up as being unsuitable for a number of people. Just a thought.
Sorry to hear the Levothyroxine was TEVA - probably the cheapest version!
I hope your latest blood tests help to resolve your problems. Have you joined the HealthUnlocked forum for Thyroid issues (Thyroid UK is the charity). Someone on there may have had a similar experience.
