My adult son has recently move into a supported living placement. My understanding his social care package provider and tennancy agreement (landlord) should be independent of each other so one does not influence the other and if the care package breaks down or his provider changes he can remain in his property.
My question is can the landlord of the property who is renting the room in a shared house dictate which provider the support (care package) comes from and name a provider within the tennancy agreement that he has to receive his support from them to keep his tenancy?
Huge thanks for any advice.

Sounds like Council has a good deal going with a certain Care Provider. Even private Landlords try sort good deals. Think you'll need to ask Mencap, Citizens advice. Hopefully someone here may have experienced this & know more.
Hi, no you can choose your own provider to ensure the care package is fulfilled, you would then have to look into direct payments, or alternatives. We looked into this, and decided it was a risk if our provider missed a day, or arrived late. The private care agencies have such a high turnover of staff.Whilst as it stood, we were not overly happy, we have the guarantee of support in the house 24/7 by the house provider. We are lucky in that our son is placed quite close by, if he's not happy about something he tells us, things get resolved pretty quickly.
