Hi

It’s been a while since I posted! My husband’s stage 4 cancer is shrinking by quite a bit and he’s stopped carbo platinum. Now on just Olympia and Keytruda. However, a month ago he started to have excruciating knee pain. He overdosed on fentynil and OxyContin and my son brought him back with Narcan. (My 22 year old angel). Now he isn’t able to walk and Hopkins is trying to find out what it is. He’s now on Gabbapentin and gout pills. They set up 2Mri’s in the next 2 weeks but tomorrow we go for more chemo. I called the triage nurse this morning and wondered if they should just admit him. I’m worried it can be the Keytruda! Anyone have some advice??hes still on Fentynil patch 12mg per hour too. Help

I am sorry that you are going through all of this. I have been having knee pain for about 5 years, found out a few weeks ago that it's from my hip, it's bone on bone and I need a hip replacement.

I have no real advice for you, except to maybe talk to his oncologist about admitting him. I can tell you is what I would do if it were me, I would stop taking multiple pain meds, they tend to screw with my already over taxed system.

I would also google side effects of keytruda to see if anything "jumps out at me".

I wish you the best of luck. Let me know how he is doing. Your husband was very lucky that your son had the Narcan.

I'm so sorry your husband is experiencing so much pain. I just read today that another LC survivor was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis after starting Keytruda. Of course, I am not suggesting that this is what is true for your husband but it might be worth looking into if they haven't already. Sometimes, Immunotherapies can exacerbate an auto immune response. Wishing you all the best. ~Peg
