Hi,   always taking meds, never seems like they really work, never go a day without taking steroids, taking about 10 different meds and inhalers and breathing treatments but not on oxygen yet.

I was taking a lot of asthma meds at one time and stayed in the Emergency room or urgent care for attacks all the time. I now take Xolair injections which has been a great help. I can't remember the last time I've had to visit the ER or urgent care for my asthma. I only have 2 inhalers now and most of my attacks stem from my severe allergies but, don't get to the point were I need medical attention. Maybe you should ask about  the Xolair Injections. Hopefully this helps!

Curious, how long on the Xolair were you, before you noticed improvement? I have been on it only three months, and haven't seen much improvement.

The changed inhalers. Famous athletes have testified before Congress regarding this issue. They can take a chemicalout of inhalers to save the environment but we have to breathe black smoke frim trucks and greyhound buses!

I can sympathize with you. I am taking 3 nebulizer medicine 3-4 x daily with 2 different hand held inhalers, antibiotics, steroids, nose sprays, Nucala, Gammagard, allergy meds, and now oxygen. And not with great results. The doctor is going to try and get approval for a procedure called Bronchial Thermoplasty. It's new but they say it will give you 5 years relief. Can you imagine?

Have you had the bronchial thermoplasty yet and did it help?

I sympathize too! I have had bad asthma since age 2. I am now 57. I have taken many meds over the years. My brother once told me, manage your asthma, or it will take advantage of you. It is just something you have to do, to function your best. Continue taking what works best, and communicate well with your doctor! Sorry, I know it is an inconvenience, but it is worse struggling to breathe. Also, if you don't manage your symptoms, it can be life-threatening. I almost died 10 years ago, from one bad attack of Asthma! I was rushed to ER, ventilated, and had already stopped breathing. Take care of yourself, for you and your loved ones!
