prostap

could anybody tell me why I’d be offered prostap injections please? I have no diagnosis as am still waiting to see another Gynaecologist, I have had 2 TVs and have had ovarian cysts in the past, 1 showed fibroid uterus (although the doc hasn’t mentioned this to me) a private gynaecologist suspected endo but I am so confused 🫤

think cos he suspected Endo he prescribed you Prostap. Are you suffering from pain and bleeding?

lots of pain and other endo symptoms but not bleeding really at all, although I am on the mini pill

I have been 3 months on Prostap. Now waiting for hysterectomy . It helped me with pain and bleeding. I have been diagnosed with Endo by MRI, so believe it might be visible stage 3-4. I have cyst and fibroids also.

If you have any phone numbers for communication with your doctors, you can call and ask a question. Think it might be the best cos they have your file information.

how are you feeling on Prostap? Was that the reason to put you on before hysterectomy? Are you also on HRT? I am asking as I am having my first injection today and I am very nervous many thanks Lucie

Hi, consultant prescribed Prostap because I was suffering with horrible pain. I had 3 injections and was pain free for this 3 months and extra 5 months after. Nobody mentioned HRT alongside 🤷I have had side effects: hot flashes, joints pain after 2 months (you can start to take osteoporosis suppliments now) and depression (3rd month after I stopped injections). Had some counselling sessions.

You can put some cold on the place of injection after, it will help not to feel pain.

In general I am happy I had it. Pain was unbearable. Now it is back and I asked my GP for Prostap again, will start next week 💛

Oh forgot to mention that blood pressure was slightly increased (130/90) and weight gains (plus 1 size).But like I said I couldn't stand the pain anymore. I had it constantly in the bowel.
