Coronary angioplasty very tired and cold afterward

3rd day after coronary angioplasty and feeling worse. I'm very cold and extremely tired with headache and aching muscles. Is this usual.

I'm struggling to get from chair to kitchen to make a drink. Will there be light at the end of the tunnel soon. Didn't feel like this before the procedure and am finding it difficult to function.

Hello, you should really talk to your doctor/consultant about this. I have had several angioplastys and never had any after effects in fact I have felt better for it.

Hi.

From what ive read of other peoples experiences post op can be variable. Some people feel better straightvaway some, like myself have a bit of an up down experience.

I initially felt better for a week but then started getting weak and breathless with chest diacomfort and pain after 2 weeks then started to pick up again.

Touch wood now i have started cardio rehab i will continue to improve. I still get tired but not as much.

If you see no improvement over the next week id contact your hospital cardio nurse or GP though. 3 days is probably a bit soon to expext to feel better maybe. Even though the procedure is minimally invasive your heart will need time to recover from the procesure.

Are you taking any new drugs since the angioplasty? If so, have a look at the side effects of them on the patient information leaflet.

I was exhausted after an angioplasty and stent insertion. I would make a cup of tea and then sit down for three hours. It went on for ages. I'd phone the cardiac nurses if you have them, there should be some aftercare organised. With me it was a six week follow up but I phoned them sooner than that and they got back to me in a couple of days.

You can also go to your GP.

It took me about six months to get over what I had and was very scary to live through.

Good luck.
