Hello, I'm new here but I'm looking for some help/ reassurance hopefully.

I had a heart attack in December and a stent fitted , I've been recovering slowly but a few days after I had to go back to hospital I was getting what I can only describe as cold flushes through my body , and tingly feelings all over , I was sent home with a course of antibiotics they said I had an infection.

Forward to this week and it started again Sunday night , I ended up back at hospital via ambulance, the bloods and ecg all come back fine so I was sent home , im sat here writing this and it's started again it's scaring me so much and no one seems to want to do anything about it ... has anyone experienced anything similar please .

Thankyou, Dawn

Hi Dawn all I can say is that many of us have been there. I’m 45 and fit as a fiddle running marathons etc and the HA came out of the blue a year ago. In the first four months I went back to A&E four times because I thought I was having another one, but I wasn’t, and it scared me silly. I found counselling helped to process the trauma of it all but a a year on I still have good days and bad days. I would say keep checking things out with GP, your medication may need adjusting as your body is reacting to a new way of life, and of course you’ll be listening to your body more than ever before so some of those pangs might have been there, you just weren’t used to it. I’ve been told all sorts by various nurses and doctors over the last year and still having different tests here and there to see why I still occasionally get these pains in the chest area. But I guess I just try to live with it, I keep up with running and walking albeit nowhere near the same mileage as before. Try not to worry, get some counselling, get on the cardiac rehab course and keep checking in here, we’re all here to support each other.

Take care- Marc

Dear Dawnmarie78

I really feel for you after reading your post.

That horrible not knowing what is going on feeling that really eats into your way of life.

You are not alone, never think that you are, and all problems have answers its just hard to find them sometimes.

What you need to do is try and control your thoughts { easy to say } otherwise your quality of life is very badly affected.

Now that you have had the tests done in Hospital , and may I be rude to say that they were only basic ones, you now approach your GP and try to get more done.

We are here to support you.

You are in my thoughts, please let us know about your continuing heart journey.
