I have been on sertraline for a little over a month and I still feel depressed. I have an easier time getting out of bed but I still find myself questioning the point of living. Anyone have any suggestions ?

Hi Rocky. What has helped me is realizing that even in depression there are shades of gray. It’s all relative but some times are better than others. So I try to notice when things lighten up even a little. It helps. As an example, I love ice cream. There’s no law that says that because I’m in a depression I can’t enjoy the 15 minutes I’m eating it. Take note of the better moments within the pain of depression you feel most of the time. It could be just 10 minutes a day that you you don’t feel quite as bad. Maybe the 10 becomes 15 or 20. My point is that when you notice even slightly better times don’t discount them or ignore them. They may be very fleeting but they’re real.
