It means he his prostate cancer has traveled to his bones and lower abdominal lymph nodes. He should be given hormonal therapy and chemotherapy (docetaxel) or Zytiga. And you should be talking to a medical oncologist.

Chemo seemed to knock out my lymph node issue in about 2 cycles. Extensive bone mets were mostly "subtle" about a year ago. Been doing this over 2 years. Time to relax. You have options. Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!

Hello Collarpurple,

My dad, 67, was given the same dx almost a year ago. Initial PSA 1200. 6 lymph nodes ( retro and iliac) affected. It was thought he had bones mets in shoulder, and two spots on spine. Out doctor suggested hitting it hard. Started with a Casodex, 6 rounds of Docetaxel and he has Lupron shots. His scan last week show that his lymph nodes have returned to normal size, the bone cancer in the spine has been reclassified to "degenerative arthritis" and the radiologist can not find any cancer in the shoulder. His PSA has dropped to 0.11. This is all GREAT news but of course it comes with some lifestyle changes.....i.e., effects of no male hormone, fatigue, muscle aches.........but it's a small price to pay given the diagnosis. I wish you all well as you begin your journey. You've come to the right place for guidance and questions.
