do you have a lot of B12 deficiency symptoms = just wondering why you think B12 is a problem.

A lot of chemo drugs have an impact on folate so there may be a bit of that involved and symptoms are similar.

Personally I'm more of a savoury than a sweet person and always have been but problems with appetite do seem to crop up for a lot of people with B12 deficiency if posts on here are anything to go by.

thakyou for your reply,i had no chemo, due to medical complications.but whilst having liver surgery, exstensive blood tests showed a very low b12 level and iwas put on a 3 monthly regime of injections.but after about 8 weeks I crash over the cliff.so I researched PAS website and found the pregabalin connection,my gp is reducing my dose over the next 2 months to see what happens.incidentialy I had my b 12 today, will be interesting to see what happens when i'm off pregabalin!

I was on pregabalin for four months this year and had a drastic loss of appetite as well as nausea and sickness that did not appear to come from the pregabalin, but from parenteral antibiotic treatment. It was only clear which caused which after stopping them both. I have neuropathy up to my thighs and in my hands that has developed since, doctors are ascribing it to spinal broblems but I have had it before, from b12 and folate issues. I did not know pregabalin could cause b12 problems so thank you. There are other drugs that help with neuropathic pain, perhaps a way forward would be to discuss this with your pain consultants?

I got to the point where even drinking became difficult so you need to get this sorted out, especially if you are taking multiple meds that maybe are also contributing.

it is not just the b12 issue you need to be concerned, with you are also not getting adequate nutrition. which won't be helping.
