worsening Bigeminy

Hi, I have been diagnosed with ventricular Bigeminy, the cardiologist has put me on Flecanide which seemed to help, but now every morning I wake up feeling so ill I can’t get out of bed for about an hour. I’m not sure if things are getting worse or the Flecanide is making me feel like this. Has anyone had this problem.

Hi, I have been taking Flecainide for nearly 3 years. I was prescribed it for SVT. I have never experienced any side effects from taking it. It made my kidney function worse for a few months ( I have CKD) but that eventually resolved itself. How long have you been taking it for?

Hi, that’s good to know, I’ve been taking it for 7 months and apart from having to increase the dose it has worked fine. So maybe it’s more to do with the Bigeminy. Thanks for your help.

I had ventricular Bigeminy, and had 34,000 extra beats per day and was really unwell. After going in hospital for a week with Myopericarditis wired up to a screen that’s when they found the thousands of extra beats. I saw my cardiologist and he said I would have to have a CRT-D device fitted and that I had no choice. I still get some now but only about 15 or more per day. I feel so much better and my Ejection Fraction pumping of the heart was at 35% and now it’s up to 49% and could still improve more. Ask if you are having extra ectopic beats and how many?
